Faculty Support
Library Tours, Orientations, and Assignment Specific Library Instruction
You may request a library orientation by clicking here, or by contacting the reference desk at 818-639-2221. Librarians will create an assignment-specific video tutorial for you to provide to your students. You can also inquire about embedding a librarian in Canvas for a limited time, depending on availability.
Research Guides
21st Century research guides are general, subject, or assignment specific guides compiled by LAMC librarians in collaboration with faculty. Contact a librarian today and make one for your class! http://libguides.lamission.edu/
Reserve Items
It is very helpful to students to have class materials, especially textbooks, available in case they do not have a copy. If you have a spare textbook, please contact the Library so we can make the material available. Material can remain yours, or can be donated to the Library.
Open Educational Resources
Our guide to finding and adopting OERs is available here.
Reference Services
A reference librarian is available to help find information and provide instruction in the use of the library either to groups or individuals. You may want to check with the reference librarian to see if the library has resources to support your assignment. 818-639-2221.
Databases--available 24/7
Find e-books, articles in periodicals and newspapers and reference information online. http://www.lamission.edu/library/resources.aspx
Requesting a Book
If you would like the Library to consider acquiring a book, please use the Book Request Form. The library will not purchase items that are owned and currently checked out. We cannot guarantee that all items will be purchased nor can we guarantee how long an item will take to acquire.
