Present: Jan Silver, John Cantley, Roman Juarez, Louise Barbato, Bill Ruiz, Ed Zayas, Maury Pearl, Suzanne Ritcheson

Maury Pearl presented the results of the survey and a critique to the new mission statement and goals.

Discussion:

John recommended checking if we should include a Title 5 reference in the mission statement.

Louise said that a mission statement is supposed to help plan rather than plan before doing planning.

Goals can change as new events happen.

The goals were written so that discipline would interpret what each goal means to that unit.

Develop strategies to implement access, retention and success.

The college needs to define what success means to us. Success cannot be measured only by degrees completed.

Louise and Jan agreed to write the evaluation and submit it the following week. They will take into account the critique submitted by Pearl.

The committee agreed to meet in August.
