Present Ralph LaRosa, Mark Pursley, Nery Ocasio, Carlos Nava, Roman Juarez, John Cantley, George Mucherson

The committee reviewed the accreditation process and the progress chart.

The committee reviewed the accreditation site and the different resources available in it.

The committee reviewed the work completed up to now.

There was discussion about the different events that will be happening  in the next weeks including the campus surveys, the answers from the district office, the evaluation faze of the self study,  and the results of the assessment conference.

The committee discussed the assessment/planning process and how it benefits the college.

The committee was shown examples of descriptive summaries written by other standards.

The committee considered language for the descriptive summary submitted by members for approval.

Sec. 1 (Nava) Not submitted. The committee asked for the admissions policy and the district wide admissions policy. The Student Services Advisory Committee was discussed.

Sec. 2 & 3 (Scuderi, Nava) Not submitted. The committee agreed to treat these two sections as one. The committee agreed to interview Gwen Walker about counseling.

Sec. 4 (Ocasio, Scuderi) Not submitted. Nery will interview Nava on how student services and equity committee works. How students are involved and other way for planning procedures and how student services receive policies from Nava.

Sec. 5 (Mucherson) Not submitted. The committee agreed to ask Linda Carruthers and Joe Vidal what procedures they use to minimize the bias in the assessment process.  Also will ask LaRosa and Pearl.

Sec. 6 (Carney, LaRosa) The committee will interview Geri Shapiro about matriculation. Also will interview D. Jordan, Gail Brosseau, Zayas and Pursley to find out what they do about this in their programs.

Sec. 7 (Portillo) Submitted and approved.

Sec. 8 (Pursley) Submitted and approved.  This section will be posted on the website.  The committee recommended a few modifications.

Sec. 9 (Rettke) Not submitted. The committee agreed to ask Angela Merrill what is the policy for confidentiality and grade changes.

Sec. 10 (Scuderi, Nava) Not submitted.

SURVEY

The committee accepted all of the questions in the sample.

The committee agreed to meet again on March 15 at 1:00 in the PCR.
