Standard Seven meeting

Minutes

Present: Gwen Walker, Margarita Padilla, John Cantley, Roman Juarez, Sherrill Frank, Harlan Goldberg, Fern Reisner.

Prior to beginning the work of the committee, Harlan Goldberg raised three issues. He stated he did not want any work done by the committee to be altered by non-committee people. He questioned the presence at the committee meetings of the Accreditation Chair. He objected to the statements made by the Accreditation Chair that all evaluative statements submitted to the self-study must be substantiated by documentation and/or objective evidence. After a brief discussion, there was no further action taken with regard to these issues.

The narrative description written by Sherrill Frank and Harlan Goldberg will be submitted in digital format for review at next meeting. There was discussion about the need to separate evaluative statements from narrative statements. Ms. Frank stated that John Klitsner’s interview has been incorporated into the overall description.

Margarita Padilla’s interview has been completed and she will work with John Cantley to put it in narrative form. Fern Reisner agreed to help with separating evaluative statements from descriptive statements. It will be submitted in digital format for review at the next meeting.

The committee reviewed the questions that will be submitted on the MCPP matrix as well as sample survey questions. The committee agreed to review these questions in more detail and be prepared to approve a tentative set of survey questions at the next meeting.
