Standard Eight meeting

Minutes

Present: Maury Pearl, Roy Paulson, Victor Reynolds, Shari Borchetta, Aaron Schrier, Roman Juarez, John Cantley

Shari Borchetta told the committee that Andy Dunn, the director of financial planning and development at the district office, can be contacted as a source of information through herself or John Cantley.

Shari commented of the January 6 workshop and the reactions of the different District officials.

John presented the results of the meeting with the other colleges’ accreditation chairs and presented the possibility of setting up teleconference meetings to answer questions together with the other three colleges.

The committee agreed to make copies of the updated matrix for the members that were absent.

Roy Paulson presented a set of survey questions he an Terry Bommer had devised to be used for beginning the evaluation process for the standard. Maury Pearl presented an in-progress sample survey which can also be accessed at the accreditation website. Roy's survey questions will be incorporated into the final survey. John Cantley advised team members to contact Maury with suggestions for other survey questions. It was predicted that the survey would be administered by the end of March and the result would be accessible by April for the writing of the evaluation.

The timetable was discussed as well as the current state of progress of the description part of the accreditation report. Many team members are beginning to write narrative descriptions.

It was agreed that the next meeting will be held on Thursday January 27 at 1:30 in room 4.
