Accreditation Steering Committee Meeting
February 3, 2000
The committee was introduced to the new accreditation website. Using a screen projector they were shown the different pages and the resources available including the self-study guide from WASC.
John Cantley reported on the progress of the pilot program
Different standard chairs reported the work progress in their standards.
The committee discussed the need for student and staff representation in the self-study. It was agreed that more staff and students would be included. It was also discussed that it was difficult for students to attend meetings because they had classes and home works to do during the meeting time.
The committee discussed the role of the steering committee in guiding the development of the self-study.
The committee discussed the need to develop an accreditation survey. It was agreed that each standard committee would develop its own questions for the survey and these would be compiled into a campus survey.
The committee discussed a potential timeline for the development of the survey and the completion of the self-study.
