Examples of Student Success in Art 2002Student Art Exhibitions 2002The Mentor/Mente Exhibition at California State University, Los Angeles, included work of both faculty and students from area community colleges. Assistant Professors, Barbara Kerwin, Lucy Griesbach and Deborah Paulsen paired up with a few of their most creative students Alex Garcia, Brian Gates, and Ira Hayes Terrones to present a variety of powerful work ranging from painting and digital media, to interactive video and installation. The 8th All California Community College Exhibition at Riverside Community College included selected acrylic and gouache paintings by students Terry Wilson, Diana Contreas and Rashaun Kartak. Competing with students all over the state Diana Contreas received $200.00 for winning First Place with her humorous gouache piece which will be featured on the announcement card for next years show. |

Internships and ScholarshipsArt and Multimedia student Orlando Martinez was been awarded a paid Summer Internship at the Getty Center. Throughout the summer months Orlando will earn money designing web pages for the Getty, as well as participate in the active internship program, sharing his experience with other students and professionals involved in the arts. |
