A
Rich Tradition
The men’s baseball program at Mission College has a rich
tradition. Slugger Gary Mathews began his career as an Eagle. All
Americans who have donned the Mission College uniform include Josh
Brown (1992), Dereck Ornelas and Gary Mathews (1994), and Jose Carrillo, Eddie Baeza (2004) and Virgil Hill (2009).
Head coach Joe Cascione accepted the position at Mission College in 2007. After building one of the most successful programs in the Los Angeles Unified District at Cleveland High School (City Champions 2002) Coach Cascione looked for the challenge of coaching at the college level.
