Brenda Escobar - Women's Soccer Coach
Brenda Escobar grew up in the San Fernando Valley and is expecting to raise the bar for the quality of play and commitment from the women’s soccer program. Escobar has achieved high success academically and in soccer as a student-athlete and will be a strong foundation for the growth of the women's program.
Escobar played two seasons at Moorpark College (‘97-‘99), where she demonstrated skills as an aggressive attacking midfielder, earning her team’s Most Offensive Player in 1998. Her hunger to put the ball in the back of the net and her intensity during the game will be reflected in her coaching style. Escobar then transferred and played for D.1-Cal State Northridge University, graduating in ‘01 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a teacher credential in ‘02. Escobar recently attained a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and is teaching Fitness/Wellness classes at Mission college.
She has taught undergraduate soccer classes at Cal State Northridge, coached the varsity girls at Alemany for two years, and has successfully organized middle school soccer tournaments. In earlier years, Escobar played with the U-17 USA Regional Team at the age of 14&15 and received many awards while playing for Alemany H.S. in Mission Hills. Escobar is anticipating recruiting many talented players and with the support of her new coaching staff intends to create a challenging and fantastic season.
