Career Technical Education (CTE) Transitons is dedicated to paving the way for students to achieve academic success. The program is a partnership between high schools, businesses, and community college programs to develop occupational pathways and work-based learning experiences In a sequential program of study. Students are able to earn dual credit for approved classes, take introductory level courses on high school campuses and get a head start towards completing a college degree or certificate at Los Angeles Mission College. Funded through Carl D.Perkins, CTE Transitions will encompass a number of new goals, which are:
- Outreach/Career Exploration
- Professional Development

- Consortia Meetings
- Articulation
- Support for "credit by examination" mechanisms
- Support for concurrent enrollment options (but no direct instructional costs)
- Support for coordination of work-based learning/internships/placement at the postsecondary level.
The new grant will run through June 30, 2013
STUDENTS:
Are you interested in an early start on your college education? Join the Los Angeles Mission CTE Transitions Program and earn college credit for specific CTE courses taken during high school that will transfer to several of our certificate and degree programs.
