Basic Skills Initiative

Louise Barbato is lending her expertise to a statewide effort. The Mission College English as a Second Language instructor has been chosen to take part in the California State Chancellor¹s Basic Skills Initiative. Its purpose is to help the state¹s community colleges improve the delivery of basic skills education to their students. Barbato will serve as an ESL and English skills specialist. Mission College, meantime, will be one of 14 colleges statewide that will be piloting the initiative.
