Do you know that your enrollment fees may be waived? Apply for the Board of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver today. Also, if you have already paid for your enrollment fees during the academic year (Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring) you may* be eligible for a refund. Remember, the BOG Fee Waiver is only a waiver, it does not provide you with additional cash for other expenses. * Students who qualify under AB540 and applying for a fee waiver during the 2012-2013 academic year can only be eligible for a BOG fee waiver for Winter 2013 and Spring 2013 terms/semesters at Los Angeles Mission College.

NEW FOR SPRING 2013 - Students who qualify under AB540 for an exemption to paying California Nonresident Tuition may apply for the BOG Fee Waiver. A special BOG application is available at the bottom of this webpage (labeled "2012-2013 AB540 BOG Fee Waiver Application form"). As an alternative application method, a student can also complete the California Dream Act Application available at caldreamact.org.

If you need cash to pay for additional educational expenses like books, supplies, transportation, etc., we recommend that you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Click here for the financial aid process and eligibility requirements. By applying via the FAFSA, you will be considered for all of the financial aid programs offered at LA Mission College, including the BOG fee waiver. If you have completed the FAFSA, you do not need to complete a fee waiver application. The FAFSA also serves as the fee waiver application.

The Board of Governors Fee Waiver program is offered by the California Community Colleges. Under this program enrollment fees are waived for students who qualify.
You are eligible to apply for a fee waiver if:
|

• you are a California resident or you qualfy under AB540 for an exemption to paying California Nonresident Tuition [new, as of Spring 2013], and |
| |
• you are enrolled in at least one (1) unit at LA Mission College. |
| |
There are three methods to qualify:
|

METHOD A: At the time of enrollment you (or your parents, if you are considered a Dependent student when completing the BOG Fee Waiver application) are a recipient of benefits under the TANF/Cal Works Program, SSI (Supplemental Security Income), General Assistance or General Relief. You can also qualify if you meet one of the following special criteria: 1) You have certification from the California Department of Veterans Affairs or the National Guard Adjutant General that you are eligible for a dependent's fee waiver, or 2) You are a recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor or are a child of a recipient, or 3) you are a dependent of a victim of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, or 4) you are a dependent of a deceased law enforcement/fire suppression personnel killed in the line of duty.

METHOD B: If you (or your parents, if you are considered a Dependent student when completing the BOG Fee Waiver application) meet the income standards, you can qualify for BOG through Method B

METHOD C: If you do not qualify based on Method A or Method B as indicated above, you may be eligible for Method C. For eligible California residents, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available at www.fafsa.gov. NEW FOR SPRING 2013: For students qualifying under AB540 for an exemption to paying California Nonresident Tuition, you must complete the California Dream Act Application available at caldreamact.org. With this method, you may be eligible for a fee waiver by demonstrating at least $1104 financial need. |

| Students who qualify for the Enrollment Fee Waiver will have their enrollment fees waived. Students are responsible for the Health Fee and Representation Fee. |

| Students who qualify under the Method A or Method B of the fee waiver program may also qualify for assistance through the Extended Opportunity Program Services (EOPS) office. Please go to the EOPS Office to receive additional information about their program. |
