Learning Center
Welcome to the Learning Center
The Learning Center offers a variety of services free of charge for current LA Mission College students. We have more than 100 new computers equipped with reading, writing, and mathematics programs that can be used for class assignments or to improve your academic skills. See the Computer Commons page for a list of the academic computer programs available. All computers have Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for you to work on your class assignments but you must bring a floppy disk, CD, or flash drive if you want to save your work. You can print your documents and research materials if you buy a print card at the Library or at the Print Center; there is a charge of 10 cents per page.
All computers have Internet access to allow for online research and e-mail communication.
We have tutoring labs for writing, reading, and mathematics. These labs serve all students who need help in those areas regardless of the class they are enrolled in. For example, if you are writing a paper for a history, Chicano Studies, or any other class, come to the writing lab for help. Science students can get a helping hand in the Math Lab.
ESL, Spanish, Nutrition, and Psychology tutors are also available. Check the schedule for each area by clicking on its link in the Learning Center home page.
Please Note:
- Eating/Drinking/Smoking: Not allowed
- Copying Machines: Coin-operated copiers are located next to the Math Lab for students use; copies are 10 cents per page.
- Telephones: pay phones are located in the lobby outside the Learning Center and upstairs outside the Library. Please turn your cell phones off or to vibrating mode while you are in the Computer Commons or in the tutoring labs.
- Lost and Found: Please return found items to the Information desk or Print Center. Items are periodically taken to Campus Security.

- Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM to 9:15 PM
- Friday: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Sunday & Holidays: Closed
Learning and Writing Lab Schedule:
