Academic Search Elite (Ebsco): articles from a broad array of disciplines including social sciences, humanities, arts, education, computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, medical sciences and more. Get complete articles from more than 1800 scholarly journals and citations and abstracts from over 3200 titles. Most are peer reviewed. Also includes a searchable image database - see "Images" link in the title bars. Uses EBSCO Host interface.
CINAHL Plus (Ebsco): covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and allied health disciplines. Also offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals, legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials. 1981 to present.
CountryWatch includes international, political, economic and business information.
CQ Researcher published by Congressional Quarterly, provides full text articles on current issues.
Directory of Open Access Journals provides access to free, full text, scholarly and scientific journals available on the web.
EBSCO Animals: provides in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals. The database consists of indexing, abstracts, and full text records describing the nature and habitat of familiar animals.
Ethnic News Watch searchable in English and Spanish, this database provides full text coverage of current and historical topics in newspapers, magazines and journals of ethnic, minority and native presses.
FindArticles provides access to magazine and journal articles from more than 900 publications from 1998 through the present on the web. Search results can be sorted by relevancy or date and limited to free articles.
Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia (Ebsco): provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.
GreenFILE (Ebsco): collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.
Health Source - Consumer Edition (Ebsco): complete articles, abstracts, and citations from over 300 consumer health periodicals, nearly 1,100 health-related pamphlets; 147 health reference books, and 7,000 Clinical Reference Systems reports. 1981 to present.
Health Source - Nursing/Academic Edition (Ebsco): complete articles from 600 scholarly journals focusing on many medical disciplines, and citations and abstracts from more than 850 journals.
Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (Ebsco): indexes 600+ periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management, and more. Some records in the database extend back to 1966.
MAS Ultra - School Edition (Ebsco): provides full text for nearly 600 popular general interest and current events publications with information dating back as far as 1975 for key magazines. MAS Ultra – School Edition also provides more than 500 full text pamphlets, 268 full text reference books, 82,968 biographies, 90,915 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 107,135 photos, maps and flags. This database is updated daily via at EBSCO Host .
MasterFILE Premier (Ebsco): provides full text for nearly 1,750 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also contains full text for nearly 500 reference books and 164,424 primary source documents, as well as an Image Collection of over 453,000 photos, maps & flags. This database is updated daily via EBSCOhost.
Military & Government Collection (Ebsco): current news pertaining to all branches of the military and government, this database offers a collection of periodicals, academic journals, and other content pertinent to the increasing needs of those sites. The Military & Government Collection provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 400 journals and periodicals and indexing and abstracts for more than 500 titles.
National Newspapers provides comprehensive coverage of major newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, and the Wall Street Journal.
netLibrary includes over 5,000 eBooks. EBooks are full text electronic versions of published books that you can search, borrow, and read over the internet. You can search for a topic across thousands of books or within the text of an individual book. Access from home requires that you first set up a netLibrary account on a computer at Mission College.
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center includes viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, links to websites, and full-text magazine and newspaper articles.
Primary Search (Ebsco): provides full text for more than 60 popular magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990. This database is updated daily on EBSCO Host .
Sirs Knowledge Source provides access to full text articles and government documents on social, health and scientific issues.
