CSU Northridge offers BS degrees in Biological
Sciences with 5 different options. (1)
Cellular, Molecular and Physiology; (2)
Genetics and Developmental Biology; (3)
Microbiology; (4)
Marine Biology; and (5)
Ecology and Evolution.
It is recommended, though not required, that
students complete their math and physics at the community
college. These requirements may depend upon the discipline
option that is selected by the student. You must check with the
biology department at CSU Northridge to see if a certain
community college organic chemistry course will be accepted for
the life science major.

UCLA offers a wide variety of BS degree
options in the Life Sciences, each organized under a different
school, department, or program. Because of the diverse nature of
the programs offered, students should obtain advisement from the
program of interest to become informed about additional
prerequisites required for acceptance into that particular
program
In general, UCLA recommends that students
complete the organic chemistry and physics requirements prior to
entry to the university. Entry into these programs is highly
selective, and students completing these additional requirements
dramatically increase their chance of acceptance into a program.
UCLA has special programs tailored to students who come from
populations that have been traditionally under-represented in
the sciences.
Some of the B.S. degrees offered at UCLA
include:
Questions about specific degrees and programs
can be addressed to
UCLA Life Science Program Counselors. For specific
questions, it is best to contact the UCLA outreach counselor
assigned to Mission College.
