The student group MECHA sponsored a day dedicated to highlighting the cultural significance of Dia de los Muertos on Wednesday, November 2. It is a day when celebrants remember the dead and mark the continuity of life. For those who celebrate the day, the holiday is not a morbid one but rather a festive occasion. Activities at Mission College included creation of altars dedicated to the dead, dances by Folklorico Cuauhtli, and information about the holiday.
