ASO Launches Scholarship for Students Facing Financial Hardships

The Associated Student Organization (ASO) is offering scholarships to LAMC students who are experiencing food and financial insecurities as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Students could get up to $50 for food insecurity and $70 to pay for utilities, while funds last.

To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have paid the ASO Fee ($10) and show proof (i.e. screenshot of your financial portal)
  • In 250-450 words, please describe if you’re experiencing financial insecurities because of COVID-19. Financial insecurity is defined as not having funds to pay for necessary household items, electricity, internet, telephone, and rent.
  • In 250-450 words, please state if you are undergoing any food insecurities as a result of COVID-19. Food insecurity is defined as not having enough food to eat.

Scholarship funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are selected to receive a scholarship, all funds will be distributed via your Bank Mobile account that is tied to your financial aid account.
