The Culinary Arts Institute @ Los Angeles Mission College’s Culinary Arts Program offers quality classroom instruction from industry professionals along with practical, hands on experience to ensure optimal skill enhancement.

With various Certificate Programs available in Culinary Arts, Professional Baking & Patisserie and Restaurant Management, the Culinary Arts Institute @ LAMC is a great choice for those new to the industry or seasoned veterans wanting to stay on top of current trends while earning certificates. With the addition of general education courses, our certificates prepare students for entry-level management positions, as well as fulfill many academic transfer requirements to four-year institutions such as Cal Poly-Pomona, CSU-Long Beach, CSU-Northridge, UC Davis, New England Culinary Institute and the Culinary Institute of America. The students at the Culinary Arts Institute @ LAMC benefit from theoretical studies combined with hands on experience with our internship program, externship partners and campus foodservice operations, including fine dining service, on campus and off campus catering services.

The Culinary Arts Institute building, which is an 85,000 square foot full service, Culinary Arts Educational facility, opened in April 2011. It houses eight (8) kitchen/classroom labs such as the Servery Café & Grille, Main Production Kitchen, Modular Kitchen, Bake Shop, Pastry Shop, Garde Manger Lab, Butchery Lab, and a high tech Demonstration Lab with auditorium seating. The new kitchen/classroom labs allow students to gain the knowledge and training that will not just give them a job, but give them an exciting career. The CAI Bldg. also houses six (6) lecture classrooms and an exquisite Executive Fine Dining Room that provides excellent front-of-the-house (FOH) fine dining service experience for the students as well.

The Culinary Arts Institute is quickly becoming the most exciting and recognized top-notch college to get a great an excellent Culinary Arts education in Los Angeles County and even Southern California!
