Learn in-person on campus or remotely at home to earn a degree, transfer to a university, or start your dream career!

There are 2 ways to get started: you can attend one of our Enrollment Events and get personal help in all steps, or you can apply and enroll online. Both are explained below.

Step 1

Complete Your Application

Choose from the options below to ensure that you complete the correct application:

Are you interested in earning a degree, certificate, or transferring to a university? Complete a College Credit Application to start or continue your education at LAMC.

Apply Today

Are you interested in noncredit options like ESL courses? Complete the Noncredit Application to enroll in noncredit/zero-unit courses only.

If you are a high school student looking for concurrent enrollment, you will need to complete an Admissions Application AND a K-12 Application.

Step 2

Log Into Your Student Portal

A few days after you complete your application, you will receive a welcome email from Mission College that will provide your Student ID Number. You will need a Student ID Number to log into the Student Portal.

Your Student Portal allows you to:

  1. Access your assigned student email account
  2. Check your registration appointment date
  3. Add and drop classes
  4. See your class schedule and grades
  5. Pay your fees
  6. View your unofficial transcripts

First Time Login

Follow these instructions only if this is your FIRST time logged into the Student Portal. Review the information below to learn how to use your Student Login Name and the Default Password Format:

Example student ID’s:  881234567 or 901234567

All student default passwords consist of:

  1. 88@
  2. + the first character of your last name (capitalized)
  3. + the month and day of your birthdate (MMDD)

‍For Example, Jane Doe, who was born on July 4th, their default password would be: 88@D0704

Don't forget to change your password to something more memorable once you log in!

Step 4

Complete Orientation

Learn about college programs, requirements, services, campus resources, academic expectations, and institutional procedures. Orientation can be completed online and is a requirement for all new students. A Student ID is required to sign in.

Meet with a Counselor

  1. Get guidance with required courses, degree, certificate, or transfer requirements.
  2. Learn about campus resources & support programs, social support, and motivation.
  3. Obtain a mandatory Abbreviated or Comprehensive Student Education Plan for future course planning.

Step 6

Enroll in Classes

Once you receive your Abbreviated or Comprehensive Student Education Plan from Counseling, you're ready to enroll in classes! For quick reference, your Education Plan will be loaded into your Student Portal.

  1. Log into the Student Portal
  2. Click on "Manage Classes"
  3. Click on "Class Search and Enroll" and Select Term
  4. Search for a Class and Click on “>” then select a class and click “>
  5. On the top right-hand corner, click on “Next
  6. Click “Accept” then on the next page, select Enroll and Submit

If you see a Green Check Mark, you have successfully enrolled.
