More than 600 Students Attend Job and Career Fair

Posted on: 5/31/2018

The first annual Job and Career Fair presented by the Career Center was a huge success. The Career Center would like to extend their gratitude to all of those who participated and attended the event. A special thank you to the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and Department of Social Services (DPSS). The fair was inaugurated with a special performance of our national anthem sang by our Culinary Arts student, Kene Alexander.

The fair had more than 600 students and members of the community in attendance. Many of those came interview ready and “dressed to impress”. The Career Center assisted students with Job Ready and Resume workshops leading up to the event. There were more than 60 employers who participated and were ready to hire. A variety of industries were represented, including Restaurant/Hospitality, Law Enforcement, Healthcare, Education and many more. The Western Barber Institute (WBI) provided haircuts to our students at no cost for their interviews. Starbucks and Yum Yum Donuts kindly donated coffee and donuts. Students won prizes and walked away with L.A. Mission College t-shirts and folders
