Commercial Photography Certificate of Achievement
The certificate of achievement in commercial photography is intended to prepare students for employment in several specialization areas within the field of professional photography that include advertising, product, food, portraiture, and events. In addition to course material focused on core technical skills aligned to industry standards, students will learn business practices, and visual communication. The curriculum (18 units) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive photographic foundation to develop a strong portfolio.

The purpose and goals of the Commercial Photography certificate program are to prepare students for high-wage, high-skill employment in the arts and entertainment industry sector. Through this program, students will demonstrate competence in the technical skills of photography while utilizing visual communication and aesthetic concepts. At the completion of the program, students will be able to operate professional digital photography equipment such as medium format, mirrorless, and DSLR digital cameras as well as studio strobe lighting and tripods. Students will also learn to use imaging software to edit, print, and catalog photographs. The Commercial Photography Certificate program will prepare students for jobs including:
