Los Angeles College Promise at Mission College
The College Promise Program at Los Angeles Mission College provides incoming first-time college students for the Fall 2024 semester the opportunity to attend college for their first two (summer, fall, and spring semesters). We are dedicated to helping students successfully transition into college by providing nurturing and unconditional support, success coaching, academic counseling, and resource referrals.

The deadline to join the Fall 2024 cohort is September 1, 2024.
Please be sure to complete all the requirements to ensure you can participate in the LAMC Promise Program.

Eligibility Requirements

Be a first-time college student.
-
Must have graduated from high school or its equivalent in the United States

Must be a California resident or non-resident eligible for in-state tuition fees (under AB 540, California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request)

Have not completed any college credit (except for college classes taken while in high school, known as dual enrollment)

Must be enrolled in at least 12 units each semester

Students who had an IEP in high school may qualify for the DSPS program and can enroll in less than 12 units and still qualify for the program

Must be enrolled and complete English in their first semester, Math in their first year, and counseling courses during the summer, fall, and spring of their first year

Must meet with an LA Mission College counselor AND a success coach once per semester

Attend the mandatory first-year Summer Transition program before the Fall semester classes begin (This is not required for Spring Late Start students)
How to Apply
- Complete a CCCApply application for admission at Los Angeles Mission College.
- Complete the FAFSA application.
- FAFSA: If you are a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible non-citizen, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Dream Act: If you are an AB540 student, sometimes referred to as a DACA student or Dreamer, complete the California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
- School Code for FAFSA or Dream Act applications: Los Angeles Mission College: 012550
- Ensure you complete the application for the school year you will be attending.
- For Fall 2024 admits: Complete the 2024 LA College Promise Application.
- Complete an online orientation and meet with a college counselor for an abbreviated education plan
- Enroll in a Summer Experience Program (Fall starts only.)
- Enroll for the Fall 2024 semester full-time (12 + units)
- Attend an online Promise orientation and sign your Promise Contact. An invitation will be emailed to you once you have completed all the required steps and have been admitted into the Promise Program.
