About our Program
Multimedia has NEW AA Degrees!
The Program has been revamped and it's easier than ever to get a degree or Certificate!
Anyone can be a Multimedia student. You don’t have to enroll in all Multimedia classes to complete a course successfully. However - we do like you to enroll in Multimedia 100 1st.
Multimedia is Digital Video Moviemaking, Animation, Gaming, Web Interfacing, Graphic Design, Digital Imaging, and Art!
Multimedia Studies presents special opportunities for students at Los Angeles Mission College. Students have a chance to create media art with Industry equipment and software. Enrolled students have free use of digital video cameras, editing bays, animation labs, and graphics stations.
Multimedia is the future… Careers include: TV/Film Director, Film Editor, Audio Designer, Illustrator, Special Effects Animator, Video Game Developer, Claymation Animator, DJ/ Sound Mixer, On-line Video Producer, Flash Animator, Graphic Designer, Digital Movie Maker, Storyboard Artist, DVD Creator, Digital Photographer…
Our teachers are Multimedia professionals and artists who will give students the skills to be creative.
What students do in the program mirrors the creativity and complexity found in the industry. Students work individually and in small design teams to develop effective communication designs for a diverse audience using various media. Final portfolios and demo reels will contain life drawing, graphic design, 3-D models, interactive productions, animations, and digital video "shorts." Work examples reflect the demands of employers in every field of multimedia.
The "blocks" of courses make up a sequence of skill-building experiences beginning with our Foundation Blocks and proceeding on through our Advanced Blocks in our areas of concentration.
Students may choose the blocks of instruction best suited to their individual needs. The courses within each block pertain to one another. For example, students studying experimental animation will also learn 3D animation software. While students may enroll in the entire block to qualify for the Multimedia certificate, any student can choose Multimedia courses as electives.
