Disability Awareness Month Alumni Panel

As part of Disability Awareness Month, our Disabled Students Programs & Services Department (DSPS) will be moderating a panel of LAMC alumni as they share their personal histories, including both their struggles and triumphs in higher education.
Panelists Include:
Bardo Ramos became a paraplegic due to a tragic accident shortly after graduating High School. He is a first-generation college student who received his Associate's Degree from LAMC before moving on to CSUN, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Sociology and Social Work.
Michael J. Griggs was born with Cerebral Palsy and has been a constant presence at LAMC for over 12 years. Starting as a student, he is a former Student Trustee and is currently a full-time LAMC staff member and Pathway Coach.
Rosa Moreno is a first-generation college student with a learning disability. She attended LAMC before earning a Master's Degree and becoming an Academic Counselor.
Allen Alvarez is a Ph.D. student at the University of Kentucky, whose research focuses on black & brown student-athletes and their academic experience. Allen received his Associate's Degree from LACCD, a Bachelor's Degree from Cal State Long Beach, and a Master's Degree from the University of Kentucky.
