LAMC Celebrates First Annual Industry Day

LAMC celebrated its inaugural Industry Day on October 14, 2022. More than 60 employers representing 47 businesses attended.  This event aimed to connect with employers, build partnerships, and ultimately establish student internship and career opportunities. It was an excellent opportunity for faculty to share programs in their Career and Academic Pathways.  

LAMC President, Armida Ornelas, Ph.D., kicked the event off by introducing Congressman Tony Cardenas, who shared his background as a business owner before his career in politics. He encouraged everyone to take pride in their work. Guests were treated to exquisite lunch from the LAMC Culinary Arts Institute and had opportunities to network with faculty, the LAMC Career Center, and Network Kinection. Event feedback was very positive, with one employer noting that this event came at just the right time because her business had been trying to find ways to partner with the college. 

We look forward to next year’s event growing greater and stronger!
