Writing Center Workshops

Unlock Your Writing Potential

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is excited to announce they will be hosting a recurring workshop series! There will be themed workshops every week, beginning on Monday, April 8th through Thursday, May 23rd, providing support in a variety of English and work habit skills! 

These workshops are free and open to all enrolled LAMC students!

Time Management Mondays: 12–4 pm
Figuring out how to prioritize your upcoming assignments can be tough. Stop by every Monday and in a half hour or less, our tutors can help you come up with a game plan for the week!

Talking Tuesdays: 12–4 pm
Do you want to feel more confident speaking English? Drop in on Tuesdays and our tutors will help you practice!

Wordy Wednesdays: 12–4 pm
Join a focused group-writing session with our tutors on Wednesdays. Group sessions are useful for brainstorming, getting started on your assignments, and even writing specific paragraphs. (Please note this group will not meet on Wednesday, April 24th — the college will be closed in observance of Genocide Remembrance Day)

Thesis Statement Thursdays: 12–4 pm
Thesis statements are the key to writing an incredible essay, so why not make sure you create one that you're proud of? Bring your essay prompt to the Writing Center and work on your thesis statement with our tutors. You’ll walk out feeling energized and ready to tackle that paper!
