Transfer Center Checklist

FIRST YEAR:

  • Choose your major (if undecided, visit the Career Center and attend a Transfer 101 workshop).
  • Meet with a counselor to develop a comprehensive student educational plan (C-SEP).
  • Visit the Transfer Center to research colleges, universities and degree programs.
  • After completing 15 units, calculate your transferable units in the Transfer Center.
  • Meet with college and university representatives and Peer Mentors in the Transfer Center.
  • Attend our annual Transfer Fair in October.
  • Meet with a counselor at least once a year to update your student educational plan.
  • Research Transfer Pathways to determine if you qualify for any guaranteed admissions programs: ADT (CSU), CCCP (UCLA), TAG (UC), TAG (HBCU), Honors/UCLA TAP.
  • If you are applying to a UC, start working on your UC Transfer Admissions Planner and start your Personal Insight Questions (essay requirement).
  • Stop by the Transfer Center every month to ensure you are on track to transfer.

Transfer Center Checklist

Final Year

1 August

UC Applications open for the following year.

2 SEPTEMBER

(must have 30+ transferable units)

  • Apply for UC TAG if you qualify/plan on transferring to a participating UC.
  • Re-calculate transferrable GPA and units.
  • Create your account for UC/CSU application websites.

3 OCTOBER

  • CSU applications open for the following year.
  • Attend Transfer Fair and Application Workshops.

4 NOVEMBER

  • Submit UC/CSU applications (before Nov. 30).
  • Renew your Financial Aid application (FAFSA).
  • Add all of the schools you have applied to.

5 DECEMBER

  • Create and login to email/portal for each university.

6 JANUARY

  • Submit all Supplemental Applications and or update all applications.

7 FEBRUARY – APRIL

  • During spring semester, submit official transcripts when the universities request them. (Check the deadline for each University)
  • Make sure your winter grades have posted and your spring schedule appears on your transcript before sending it to the universities.
