General Education Pathways Program

The first cohort for this pathway launched in Fall 2021, for the Class of 2025. A new cohort begins each summer for incoming, freshman students enrolling at a Los Angeles Unified School District, Local District Northeast high school.

The first summer of the pathway is offered via zoom (synchronous). After that, beginning with the first Fall term, all remaining classes will be completely online.

Girl Student Writing

Participation in the program is based on Counselor referral and was developed for NON- Science/STEM majors (Science/STEM majors may require different math and science requirements).

Upon completion of this pathway, the student will meet General Education (GE) requirements for college (similar to high school A-G requirements). If the student is able to complete all classes in the program, they will be “GE Certified.” GE Certification means that the student has completed the GE pattern of courses for the UC/CSU, to meet their lower-division GE requirements.
